To many who see tile work, grout is just the space between tiles and part of the beautiful décor into which it’s set. But grout is much more important than that, as a necessary element of this flooring installation.
Without grout, tile pieces would shift against one another and ultimately crack as tile flooring edges create friction and chipping. So in that sense, it's part of the protection, offering durability and a well-known lifespan that can serve you for over 50 years.
Grout also helps seal the surface, so dirt and debris aren’t ground into the spaces where they can create foul odors and house allergens. With a proper sealant, these seams are also easy to clean, giving you an even longer lifespan.
